For me his name is Matthew. He is a mid-forties VP who is the self-assured, type-A executive who would never admit when he's wrong. When there are issues he charges into our department and irritably demands for someone to help him. When presenting in front of a crowd he speaks in practiced, measured words, smiles though his shark-like teeth, and patronizes people with his smarmy attitude. He is openly unfaithful to his wife, bringing her to company events, but is also seen regularly in the company of attractive married female managers beneath him. He is the kind of man who will make another permister feel 1 inch tall with his words alone, and causes people in his path to cringe and shirk away.

If Matthew were to openly flirt with my wife in front of me at a company party, I would not interfere. And if I were to come home and find him shirtless ad looking at me smugly with my wife's head between his knees, or perhaps holding her ankles while ravaging her on the couch, I would just politely ask if I could get him anything before going upstairs.
