I feel the contest is lost when I see such naive statements....unfortunately, most believe they are correct. No doubt you have been programmed to think as it is necessary by those that you aimlessly respect, but dont really understand their motives. There were many warning signs about the mortgage mess we are in (fannie may and freddie mac)...however, as the present chairman of each committee said a few months ago....everything is great!!! Oh, by the way....that is Frank and Dodd....Democrats. And now it is the consensus to buy the mortgages for people that lied about their present salary, their credit history and their character....remember to that the banks were responding to presure from the Democratic Congress to lend to those that didnt qualify....just so we could feel good. Isnt it an American right to own a home, rather or not you can pay for it??? Is it just the Dems and not the Repubs making funny decisions.....no,,,it is both....one of the best things we could do for all of us....is to put term limits on Senators and Congressmen..... Much like the Congress and Senators did for Presidents....kind of odd they did it for the President but left it OK for them to serve for life or like some of the Senators,,, well into senility. I still think the fairest thing is for those that pay taxes....only get to vote...afterall...they are the ones paying the way (by the way...that is the way it was in the virgin constitution). shouldnt there be a mandate to spend only what is collected in taxes and not borrow....I mean afterall dont we owe China trillions now.....do you like to be in debt to China???? Will our grandkids like that too? It seems part of the problem is to get re-elected you need to offer something for the vote....well, that has gone so far off the wall....that we are bankrupt as a country. Bankrupt monetarily and morally.......I see some do not want to read about politics in here.....and I agree....probably not the forum for it.....It is one the things I have always enjoyed reading about and studying and take no offense at others with differing points of views. I think the attack on poverty and "lifting up the middle class" has been going on for trillions of dollars and generations now....and we have more poverty and more lower class citizens than ever before (numerically and percentage wise)....evidently something has gone wrong....could it be, people decide it is easier to take a handout than work their way up???? Oh, just that good old "feel good thing" makes everything right. The new deal and new society was instituted by Dems and basically it was to ensure the lower and middle class became dependent upon government to support them...as long as you support them at the voter booth....that is. Public schooling is more like Public disgracing......what a sorry mess.....such as it is......Missy
