I read this week that if you get an E-mail with attachments saying that they are porno pictures of Sarah Palin, don't open them as there may be viruses attached. Then if you get another mail saying they are porno pictures of Hillary Clinton, don't open them as there may be pictures of Hillary Clinton.

All these years and I never understood the difference between the Democrats and the Rebublicans. Until now ..

Mary, you may be right, permisterally I really believe that in 500 years time, serious religious belief will be classified as a mental illness. But I think you have to face a certain reality here. For most politicians in the US (or Iran for that matter), if they were to admit to not believing in God, their political future simply would not last long. The question is, do you want politicians that lie about God but otherwise make good laws or politicians that genuinely believe in God and trust in Him to make good laws. Not an easy choice but the real one maybe. And bugger all to do with stories and films about men with unfaithful wives, so I'll shut up ...

Let me be clear, there's no such thing as a good politician, most start out bad with a private agenda, the innocents that really want to help, find out they can't without compromising their ideals, eventually they're indistinguishable from the old pros. Politics should be "Nationalized",,,that's right, just like the draft, our government administrators should be just that, people that work for us (not them), do what the people say for a change. Lets see.......Both houses of Congress writes the bills (tax and spend) the President cant.....then everyone blames the President and really believe it is his fault....seems like not too many realize how stupid they are if this is true////// 700 billion...is a lot of money till you count up how much Congress has spent over what they take in.....makes that look like peanuts....the answer may be term limits for all these individuals spending all that time and our money....oh well.....Missy

Oh yeah......Democrats believe in large government, super entitlements, more restrictions, less freedom, higher taxes (for redistribution of wealth), more welfare, less education in public schools with more taxes to create more teachers (they do need their votes after all) and what has this accomplished over the years.....oh yeah it took a majority of Republicans to vote in the Civil Rights Act after the Dems wouldnt pass it.

Republicans believe in smaller Government, less restrictions on private citizens, States rights to govern themselves, less taxes, no terrorism, choice of school programs (in other words school vouchers), religious freedom within public places (this is a Christian Country) (try to take a Bible into Arab Countries and find out what happens)

Seems as though most vote for the glib, charismatic permister, without knowing much about politics, let alone the politics of the permister they are voting for (perhaps the founders of the Constitution knew what they were doing when they said only those paying taxes have a right to vote for those spending that money.........what a concept)

As for entitlements, wait till your 65 and want to retire, if the republicans had had their way, those retirements would have gone the way of Lehman Brothers. And if you get sick when your old (like most people do) please don't use Medicare like the overwhlming majority of senior citizens do today. Even the ones in the republican party.
