Have to say I agree with bi3to5insub - that is extremely dangerous to use oven cleaner as it is corrosive. As to jaywht, they grow wild outside in most uncultivated ground. All you need is a good pair of gloves to cut them and a plastic bag to put them in.

Hi jaywht, Wikepedia has a good article on stinging nettles, and there is an American variety called red-tinted, so they do grow in the US. Probably could not send you any from the uk as your laws do not allow the importation of plants.

Urtica dioica....common nettle, it is one of the worlds super weeds, it has followed man round the planet...i know that it is grown as a commercial crop in some regions of the states.
