And thanks to all who have expressed their condolences, both publicly and privately. They are all very deeply appreciated. While my ex and I were no longer close, I still cared a lot. It's sad to see someone you were close to get sick and eventually pass away. It was a long illness -- the hospital time was months long.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekend. I'm heading out on a business trip after this, so I'll be away a few days. I'll be back after that.

When I Peeked

I have a question for you all.

Occasionally I stumble onto one of my caps, reposted by someone else. I haven't seen it here on this site. But it happens occasionally on Tumblr.

What I do currently is just take a screen capture of it and post it my own blog there. Are there other suggestions that you guys have?

I don't claim any rights to the photos, but the captions are my own. I recognize that this is a bit of a sketchy area when it comes to legal issues. And I'm not looking for anything other than perhaps getting credited for creating them.

Any ideas?

Re the other subject, I find mine all over tumblr. It's a losing battle, I'm afraid. If they're unaltered, I just accept it as a compliment, but it still annoys me if someone just wipes my text and puts his own on my cap. I put a lot of custom work into the picture. I have found one guy who has a "Don Jetman favorites" section, giving me credit, which I appreciate. That said, with the strict copyright takedowns these days, you really don't want to be too well known. Photogs are getting more and more serious about protecting their original work.

As to the question you raised, there is nothing you can do about it.

Even without credit, I look at it as a compliment. Someone decided it was worth sharing.

As to Dickles' comment. I prefer to stay under the radar. Sure, I have my 'stamps' on the caps but it's not that easy to locate where they came from compared to the @...

Some publishers look for that and try to close them down.

When I ran my yahell caption groups, I got several notices from yahell about copyright issues. That's another reason I never leave any info were the picture originated.
