How do you caption?

I love the captions, but I hate computers. I have some great ideas for captions, but am not sure how to caption. 2 questions:

(1) How can I delete captions from other caps?
(2) How can I then add my own caps to the photos?

I have Microsoft Vista products.

Thank you.

It depends. If the captioned photo has the captions on top of the photo, there is nothing you can do to remove them. If the captions are above, below, or to the side of a photo, you can use an imaging program like photoshop or even MS Paint to copy just the picture into a new picture.

I insert pictures into Powerpoint, then use the Callout Autoshapes to make my captions. When I am all done, I will select the picture and all captions and copy them into Photoshop where I can save it as a jpg. Tadaaaaa! There are lots of other ways to do it, too. The key, in my opinion is to make the words big enough to be easily read. Oh, and try to make your captions original.

Its a lot of fun to bring your fantasies alive in a captioned image.

I can't help but think you'd be better off looking for your
own pictures and then captioning them. I have done
like you suggest a few times but I believe that I've always
admitted what I've done and reposted the caption in the forum
from which I took it.

Vista comes with Paint and you could just try it. If you find
that you need something a bit more powerful and I think you
will then you could try Paint.Net. It's a free program like
a simplified Photo Shop and you can download it here-
The hyperlink is visible to registered members only! . Need something even more powerful?
You can try Gimp. Gimp is here The hyperlink is visible to registered members only!
I use gimp but I must warn you that Gimp has an interface
that looks like it was made by Martians.

These programs can seem to be a daunting at first but
you should be able to find simple tutorials on the net. Also
remember that you'll not use all of the features that the
programs have. Most of the time my work flow involves,
cropping the images to the part that I want, scaling the image
to about 800 pixels high, color adjustment to overall image and
to lips and eyes, resizing to add space for the text, filling
the added space with a background color, then adding
the text and finally saving the cap.

Sometimes it's even simpler than that. The important thing
is not the tools. The important thing is your idea. A good
idea will always shine through.

Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing what you
have to say....Tell me she's going to make you her little
pantied bitch.

Hi,

I agree with jane_fressia. It's not really important which program you use. The key to a good caption, in my opinion, is a) a good picture that is hot even without a caption b) your idea.

I myself don't use any fancy programs. I have windows XP and windows 7. Both have paint installed already and that's all you need. For all the captions I've posted here so far I used paint, nothing else. So far nobody has complained and I think it's the best if you hate computers. It's pretty easy to udnerstand and doesn't have all those (very useful but most of the time not actually needed) extra functions.

Just give it a try. I hope you're successful
