Somerset Party?

My wife and her friend have been invited to a party next weekend at a grand manor house in deepest Somerset.
When I mentioned this to a mate of mine and told him where the party was being held, he said that he'd heard of it and he'd also heard a rumour that the hostess always invites half a dozen or so black guys down from London, just to make the party go with a bang, so to speak!!!
Has anybody else heard the same rumour of is my mate just winding me up???
