anklet in right or left legs

Do women really know about wearing the anklet on left or right legs ? Is it simply an imagination of the guys in the forum. My wife wears a golden anklet on the left leg. I did ask her once if she would mind switching it to the other leg. She said it is ok with her to wear it on the right leg. I am wondering if she really knew the meaning. Any suggestions as to how to find out if she knows or not.
