rating points per post

How is it that a post can have 10 ratings that total more than 30 points?
If 3 is the max score then how can the total be more than 30 if only 10 people have rated it??

Sorry, I think you misunderstood....I asked "MORE than 30 points"
I do know that 10x 3 = 30...but I asked how some had more than 30.....
